Workshop on Polyphonic Music at the mirror: same text, different ages

MEANING:

Polyphonic Music at the Mirror wants to compare the performance practice of pieces by composers living in different ages. They set their works starting by the same text, both during the Renaissance and in the contemporary world as well. Same titles, same words, different harmonies… Five hundreds year have been passed, our music tastes are changed, probably, but I am sure the pleasure of being transported, by the means of an inexhaustible flow of sound, in the magical dimension of music for voices only, will remain unchanged for ever…

Students of Choral Conducting. Choirs, maximum 32-36 singers divided in SATB, SSATB, SSATTB and SSAATTBB (from 4 to 8 voices)

FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES:

The choir will prepare the repertoire 3-4 months before my visit. The workshop will last 3-4 days (at least 3 hours for day) and will consist of choral rehearsals where I will conduct the choir explaining the right interpretation, the right pronunciation and all the musical aspects. A final concert would be recommended!

I have created a playlist on YouTube where one can listen to the repertoire:
